We don't mess around when it comes to cryostat refurbishment. If you've purchased a cryostat from Rankin before, you know that you may have paid a bit more with us than other refurbished instrument suppliers. This is because we put more into our cryostats to ensure that every machine is operating at like-new condition, per OEM specifications, before leaving our facility. We have a refrigeration expert on our biomedical team, who is dedicated to refrigeration on cryostat refurbishment.

RESET THE LIFESPAN
The refrigeration system is the most common system to fail on a cryostat. We've resurrected countless cryostats over the years, resetting their lifespan with all new refrigeration.

PERFECT SECTIONS
Every cryostat is tested at 3μ, 5μ, and 10μm, and must pass with <0.15μ margin of error per turn, even more strict that the OEM protocol during manufacturing.
REFRIGERATION
New compressor
New cap tube assembly
New refrigerant
New peltier
New filter drier
New condenser fan
New chamber fan
New drain tube
Oil in cooling lines cleaned
Test-cooled for at least 3 days (usually from Friday to Monday)
Function tested to strict QC standards based on OEM specifications

Compressors are like the heart of the cryostat - so when they die, your cryostat no longer cools. Regardless of the condition of any cryostat that we procure, a new compressor gets installed, along with the aforementioned items. This ensures that any cryostat you purchase from Rankin has a new "heart". We have found that if a compressor is not replaced properly, it can do more harm than good.
