100% Human Tissue
All tissues are FFPE human tissues. The intended use of control slides is to qualitatively assess the performance of the special stain and not for quantitative purposes.
100% White, Electrostatically Charged Glass
Microscope slides used are made of super white glass and electrically coated. High-quality glass to avoid auto-fluorescence. Ensures proper tissue section adhesion to the slide surface and avoids the loss of valuable tissue.
Air-Dried
All unstained slides are air-dried unless otherwise specified. Allows laboratories to dry the section with or without heat, according to their own needs. Reduces the exposure of control tissue to the heat drying procedure to preserve and potentially increase tissue reactivity.
Mid-High Tissue Placement
Save expensive reagents. Allow the placement of patient and control tissue on the same slide.

Most control slides are made fresh on-demand, and ship same day if ordered before 12pm EST. However, some control slides may take up to 2 weeks if a rare tissue is required. To check the lead time on a specific control slide you need, email info@rankinbiomed.com or call (877) 882-3679
Yes! If you don't find the specific control you are looking for, we can likely make it for you. We have a massive inventory of human tissue that allows us to create almost any control for your needs.
No, you cannot purchase our tissue blocks.
No, you cannot sample a control slide. However, many of our controls come in as small as a pack of 10 slides, so we recommend purchasing a small pack before ordering more.

Refund Policy
Returns
30-day money-back guarantee return period from the date of delivery. Any return outside of the 30-day return period is subject to a 15% restocking fee, and requires an approved Rankin RMA number. If the item(s) are under warranty and are faulty or damaged, we will repair or replace the items per the warranty agreement. For items that are replaced, return of the faulty or damaged item(s) is required.
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since you received your order, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
- Unused or in the same condition that you received it.
- Item must be in the original packaging (if applicable).

You are eligible for a refund if:
- Item is broken, cracked, or damaged so that is is non-functional
- Item is missing a part(s)
- Item does not operate as listed
- Item is not what you ordered
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at ap@rankinbiomed.com. Refunds may take up to 90 days.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at info@rankinbiomed.com with your order number and product you wish to exchange and send your item to:

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
