Step 2:
Free Quote
After an initial needs analysis call to understand your objectives, your account manager will curate a list of equipment, with our applications expert, specific for the needs of your new histology lab.
New and Refurbished
We carry both new and refurbished equipment, which can save you as much as 60% off of brand new prices. You can choose a mixed bag of both new and refurbished items for your lab setup.
Choose from a variety of brands
Rankin carries many different brands, makes, and models. Have the versatility to equip your lab with the exact items you need, while still getting the benefits of working with one vendor for your project.
Step 3:
Free Lab Design
Our applications and lab consultant has over 40 years of histology lab experience. You will receive a 2D and 3D layout for your lab, and there are typically several revisions until we get it just right.
Future-proof
The layout takes into account current needs, as well as plans for future growth potential. This service is free of charge and is a perk of working with Rankin for your lab setup.
Streamline the buildout
This critical step is what helps our customers open faster and more smoothly. These layouts are an effective asset for your contractors when building out the physical laboratory space.
Step 4:
Place Order
Once the equipment list and lab design are decided on to fit your needs, you can place your order.
Payment plans
Split up the equipment costs into digestible payments over time. Most labs elect to finance the purchase, freeing up cash for other expenses. Payment plans typicaly range from 3 to 5 years depending on your preference.
Lead times
Delivery times can vary depending on your product selection, but a typical histology lab setup will have a lead time from 8 to 12 weeks.
Step 5:
Installation Prep
Our installation team will provide you with a pre-installation checklist document for each instrument that you purchased that clearly spells out dimensions, weight, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC requirements.
Site readiness checklists
To ensure your site is ready for installation before equipment and installation techs arrive, we require that you complete checklists corresponding to the equipment you ordered.
Contractor resources
Along with providing your specialty contractors the pre-installation checklists, we are also happy to speak with your contractors directly with any questions or issues they may have with work required to prepare the site for your equipment installation.
Step 6:
Delivery
Setting up a lab is a massive project from a logistical standpoint. Lucky for you, we've done this before. Our installation team will work with you to arrange for the proper timing of delivery.
Equipment storage
Site not quite ready as soon as you thought it would be? No problem. We can hold all of the items on your order, if needed. Once you're ready, we will arrange for delivery.
Free shipping in the midwest
Shipping charges may be free of charge if your lab is located within Rankin's delivery range. Our delivery range is the midwest United States. Qualification can be determined following the Discovery Call.
Step 7:
Installation
Installation can take anywhere from three to five days depending on the scale of your lab setup. Our service technicians will install the equipment, perform function tests and minor calibrations needed following shipping, and provide basic operator training.
Basic operator training
After the equipment is installed, our trained service technicians will provide your end-users with basic operator training. If your end-users are not available, you can re-schedule operator training for another time. This does not include any type of applications training.
Verification of proper performance
Before our installation technicians can leave, the equipment must be verified to be performing to specifications. Adjustments and calibrations are made if needed.
Step 8:
Go-Live
We don't go away when installation is complete. We provide continued service support for one-year following your setup free of charge. Your lab can expect support for repairs, consultation of operation errors, and applications issues.
Equipment Warranty
Have peace of mind knowing that all equipment comes with a warranty that covers parts, labor, and travel. Most new equipment comes with a 2-year warranty. You can also extend this coverage before it expires, if you wish.
Certification support
Our staff has over 130 years of combined experience serving anatomic pathology laboratories. Our applications expert can assist your lab through the necessary steps to become CLIA certified.
