Territory: Several openings available (depending on the applicant's residing location)

Reports to: VP of Sales

Pay: $70,000 - $120,000+ (uncapped commission)

General Purpose of the Position:

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with histology laboratories within their designated territory. This role requires in-person client engagement through regular lab visits, with a minimum of three (3) on-site visits per week.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in or managing a histology lab and/or selling pathology/histology-related products. A competitive base salary is offered, along with commissions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Sales & Territory Management:
  • Drive sales of equipment, consumables, supplies, and services to exceed targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers, including pathologists, lab managers, and technicians.
  • Conduct on-site visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts and generate new business through cold and warm leads.
  • Account Management:
  • Use CRM tools to track prospects, follow-ups, and customer interactions.
  • Manage sales cycles from prospecting to closing, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Generate and deliver timely quotes.
  • Client Engagement:
  • Conduct on-site needs assessments to understand customer requirements.
  • Work closely with the operations team to coordinate product deliveries and installations.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and industry events.


Skills and Abilities Required:


  • Sales Skills: Ability to prospect, qualify leads, and close sales. Leverage the inside sales team for large equipment opportunities and/or new lab setups.
  • Communication: Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of histology or laboratory operations and a desire to help customers improve their laboratory operations with Rankin's products.
  • CRM & Technology: Proficiency with CRM platforms, Email, Excel, and Google Workspace.
  • Organization & Productivity: Ability to prioritize and manage a large territory efficiently and productively.

  • Experienced histology laboratory technician (no sales experience required). Or, experienced histology laboratory sales rep.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Professional sales training or 1-2 years of B2B sales experience (or histology lab experience)
  • Healthcare or laboratory sales experience preferred
  • Histology laboratory work experience is preferred


Location:

  • Remote with required on-site client visits within the assigned territory


Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent local travel within the territory (minimum four on-site visits per week with one day per week at home office for emails, quotes, and follow up calls typically on Fridays or Mondays).
  • Yearly trade shows and industry events within territory


Compensation Structure:

  • Base salary plus commissions
