The Rankin Can-Filter Fume Filtration System is the first whole-room carbon filter air filtration system. You deserve cleaner, safer air in your histology lab. The harmful carcinogenic fumes found in the histology lab can be eliminated with the stand-alone Rankin Can-Filter Fume Filtration System. No ventilation, facility re-work, or construction is necessary with our stand-alone filtration system. Simply plug the system into a standard 110v outlet and turn it on to the speed setting of your choice. The Can Filter system comes standard with casters to easily move the system, and is only 16.5" in diameter to fit in even the smallest labs. The Rankin Can Filter Fume Filtration System is an entire-lab space filtration system, and should be used in addition to your existing local instrument filtration and fume hoods. A 10-year warranty comes standard with each Can-Filter blower unit.
We recommend that your air be filtered every 2 minutes. One Can-Filter per 500 square feet, evenly spaced throughout the lab space, is recommended. For 8-foot ceilings, we recommend the CAN 100. For 9-foot ceilings, we recommend the CAN 125. For 10-foot ceilings or higher, we recommend the CAN 150. Use the chart below to calculate what size and quantity is best suited for your lab.

Can my Filter be refilled?
No! Well, technically the filter can be re-filled, but it is not a good idea to self-fill the filters at all, the reason for this is that Can-Filters uses an industrial shaker with timed intervals and a dust extraction system, to ensure a packed carbon bed. This eliminates the possibility of preferred air channels through the filter, because as we all know, air does not wait in line to go through a filter it finds the path of least resistance and crowds in. So if you tried packing the filter yourself, as soon as you got it as full as you think you could get it, the fan would vibrate the carbon, and over time the carbon would settle and you would be left with air gaps all over the place presenting the air with channels to flow through the filter and possibly leave untreated.
